The POWER-CHILD CAMPUS Concept Stands on Four Strong Pillars:

1) Safe House

A safe place, where women can interchange and at the same time receive information on the subject of “protection from sexual violence” and have their children medically examined. In cases of domestic and sexual violence, girls and boys can be provided with safe haven to help them plan their future prospects in safety.

2) Pedagogically Directed Soccer Fields

Development through soccer – in daily programs, Power-Child’s professional educators teach girls and boys the knowledge and skills they need to survive and avoid dangerous situations. They learn to hold their own and deal respectfully with others. The POWER-CHILD CAMPUS will sponsor tournaments, events and holiday camps and serve as a social center for the population of Mfuleni. Together with the community, the POWER-CHILD CAMPUS offers an alternative to violence.

3) Campus Viewing

Power-Child e.V. as a vanguard: as early as mid-2008: besides soccer transmissions, we will also be able to show social spots and enlightenment films on the giant LED screen. Messages like: “Sexual contact with children is no cure for AIDS!” will reach many people uncomplicatedly.

4) Soup Kitchen and Clinic

Hunger is still one of the chief problems of the population. In the soup kitchen on the Campus, children and grown-ups will be provided with a nourishing meal every day.

A cooperative effort with highly regarded NGO will make it easier to gain access to medical care.
